Prior to the start of the final home game at Golden 1 Center, the official Buddy Hield Rookie Award Presentation by KIA took place at center court as Hield received his Performance Award for Rookie of The Month March 2017 for the Western Conference. Hield who received the award before tipoff must have used that inspiration as he went on to set a new career-high against the Phoenix Suns with 30 points. Hield has now won the award for both March with the Kings and in December while playing for the New Orleans Pelicans before the infamous DeMarcus Cousins trade. We can almost confirm that is the first time in NBA History that a player has won the Rookie of the Month with two different teams in the same season.
