Buddy Hield Sacramento Kings Highlights began as a nightmare for Buddy with poor shooting in the 1st Half. Hield bounced back in the 3rd and 4th quarter to contribute strongly for the New Orleans Pelicans. Hield finished with 14 points, collected 2 rebounds and dished out 1 assist in almost 22 minutes of action against the Kings. It is important to mention that Buddy scored 12 of his 14 points in the 4th quarter alone. This kid can score if given the opportunity…a shooter needs to shoot. During a postgame interview, Hield said “I’m not use to this at all. But it’s a long season,” when asked about the current losing streak of 8 consecutive games. Hield said. “We just have to stay confident. We’re 0-8 right now, but we’re going to find a way and we are going to break through this. We have a lot of games left. All we need is a win to build our confidence up.”
To recap, The New Orleans Pelicans continually put themselves in a position of playing catch up with the Kings leading most of the contest. The Pelicans pulled to within 5 points with 1 minute left in the game when the Kings pushed the lead beyond reach, winning 102-94 behind strong play from Demarcus Cousins who finished with 28 points, collected 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Rudy Gay played well for the Kings scoring 21 points, collecting 6 rebounds, dished out 6 assists along with 2 steals and a block.
Anthony Davis had a great game and lead all players in scoring with 34 points, collected 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 steals and 1 assist. You simply cannot ask for a better performance from Davis. The team is constantly struggling to find the support Davis needs to be competitive in close games. The Pelicans are playing well, just not well enough to win against more superior teams. So to add insult to injury, the Pelicans now drop to 0-8 while the Sacramento Kings improve their record to 4-5.
